RCBC gets caffeine boost at grand opening of on-campus Saxbys
ƹƵ and Saxbys, a Certified B Corp, celebrated the first student-run Saxbys cafe to open at a community college on March 22 with music, arcade-style games and a special welcome to inaugural Student C.E.O. Owen Taylor, a 3+1 Business Administration student.
RCBC welcomes first Black female chair and trailblazer to Board of Trustees
The ƹƵ’s Board of Trustees selected Robin A. Walton as the new chair at its March meeting. Walton, who joined the Board last February, became the first woman to lead the college’s Board of Trustees.
Walton currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Government and External Affairs at Inspira Health. There, she manages Inspira’s relationships with federal, state and local governments, regulatory agencies, key policymakers and community stakeholders.
RCBC chosen as host site for Smithsonian’s Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit
Who has the right to vote? What are the privileges and obligations of citizens? Whose voices will ultimately be heard? These questions have ruminated in the American psyche since the Revolutionary War and continue to affect citizens to this day. Explore them further and join the discussion at ƹƵ from April 5 to May 5, as they display Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, an exhibit based on works currently displayed at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
RCBC to host Law Enforcement Career Day
Looking to enter a career in law enforcement, private security or with the courts? Stop by ƹƵ on March 31, from 12 to 2:30 pm, in the Student Success Center on their Mount Laurel Campus.
Agencies from local, county, state and federal law enforcement, including policing, corrections and the courts will be present at the event.
RCBC honors Women’s History Month with two all-women podcast episodes
ƹƵ is set to launch “The Baroness Podcast,” a monthly series highlighting women in leadership while encouraging listeners to build their skills, connect with the community and visualize the opportunities available to women in various professions.
RCBC to host veterans resource fair and open new center to boost graduation rates of veterans
With the goal of improving success rates among veteran students, ƹƵ will officially open a new Center of Excellence for Veterans Student Success on Saturday, April 30 in conjunction with a community fair for veterans.
The Burlington County District 11 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the VFW Auxiliary is organizing the fair in Votta Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans can get information about VA claims filing, federal and state veterans’ benefits, housing, counseling, employment, discharge upgrades and more.
Business student enjoys flexibility and personalization offered at RCBC
Nearly 50% of today’s college students are considered first-generation. For Dana Knittel, earning a college degree is a necessity. A first-gen college student, Knittel knows the challenges associated with lacking a college degree. She studies business at ƹƵ and hopes to eventually pursue a career as a real estate agent.
