Martin Hoffman

Dr. Martin A. Hoffman Sr. is the chief information officer (CIO) for »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ. He promotes a cohesive vision for technology, infrastructure and academic support systems, ensuring that critical Information Technology, Audiovisual, Distance Education and Library services advance the college's mission. His leadership is built upon four decades of experience in higher education administration and a doctorate in Educational Technology Leadership.

A recognized leader in technology and distance education, Dr. Hoffman volunteers for non-profit organizations, in addition to his full-time job at the college.  He has served as the chair of the Board of Directors for the Instructional Technology Council (ITC), an international professional organization, where he founded its peer-reviewed journal. Prior to serving on the ITC Board he was the executive director of a multi-state distance education consortium.  

His expertise in quality assurance is demonstrated by Quality Mattersâ„¢ Master Reviewer status and he is the New Jersey State Lead for the program. He actively engages with the American Association of Community Colleges Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation and serves as a peer reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. He also continues to teach as a senior adjunct faculty member in Computer Science, Physics and Health Information Technology.

Dr. Hoffman's fascination with educational technology began in the days of 35mm filmstrips and 16mm movie projectors. He has pursued this passion by working at museums, libraries and schools. He champions accessible, integrated technology as a powerful tool that enhances the democratization of high-quality education.
