Join RCBC's Dental Hygiene Clinic for a day of smiles, service, and community! Each year, RCBC’s Dental Hygiene Program hosts Give Kids a Smile Day, offering free dental care to children 13 and under in partnership with the American Dental Association Foundation and the New Jersey Dental Association.
Local dentists, hygienists, assistants, and community volunteers come together to provide essential oral health services, education, and fun — all while helping kids build confidence in the dental chair.

Who Is Eligible
Children 13 years old and under are welcome to participate.
All services are completely free of charge — no insurance or income verification required.
Services Offered
- Comprehensive dental exams
- X-rays (as needed)
- Dental cleanings
- Fluoride treatments
- Sealants
- Restorative care (fillings, simple extractions, etc.)
Every child will also receive an oral health goody bag, and parents will have access to a referral table for any follow-up care needs.
What to Expect
When you arrive, your child will be greeted by a Patient Buddy, a volunteer who will stay with them throughout their visit to help them feel comfortable and cared for.
Depending on your child’s treatment needs and waiting times, the visit may last from 30 minutes to 2 or more hours.
There will be fun activities while children wait — including face painting, crafts, and a movie room.

Please park in Lot #13, directly in front of the building, and enter through the red doors that say Dental Hygiene Clinic. Our volunteers will be available to guide you.

For the last 20 years, »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµâ€™s Dental Hygiene Program hosts Give Kids a Smile Day, bringing together dental professionals, students, and community members to provide free dental care for children 13 and under.
This incredible event depends on volunteers like you — whether you’re a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, student, or other dental team or community member, your time and talents make a lasting impact on children and families in our community.
We are seeking volunteers to assist with:
- Dental care providers: dentists, hygienists, and assistants for exams, cleanings, sealants, and restorative care
- Patient buddies: non-clinical volunteers who accompany children throughout their visit, offering comfort and support
- Check-in and logistics support: help families register, guide patients through the clinic, and assist with activities

General Event Information for Volunteers
Arrival & Parking:
Location: 1000 Briggs Road, Mount Laurel, NJ — Health Sciences Center
Recommended Arrival: Please plan to arrive by 8:00 AM.
Our first patients are scheduled at 8:30 AM, and this short window will give you time to check in, enjoy breakfast, and get settled in your assigned area before care begins.
Parking: Please park in Lot #14 to leave Lot #13 available for patients. Lots are clearly marked with white signs and red numbers on the light posts. Jason please add parking lot map here.
Building Access: Outside doors to the building are locked. Please enter through the doors in parking lot #14 where there is a volunteer opening the doors.
Volunteer Check-In & CE Credits
Please check in at the entrance of the building. All volunteers must sign in to receive a name tag, unit/area assignments, and a volunteer certificate.
- A volunteer certificate that is equivalent to 3 CE credits will be awarded to all volunteers (certificates emailed post-event).
- If you speak a language other than English and are willing to act as a translator when needed, please take an extra name tag and write the language you can translate — this helps the team locate you when translation assistance is needed.
Breakfast & Lunch
- Breakfast: Continental breakfast available at 7:30 - 8:30 AM
- Lunch: Lunch served from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
All volunteers are welcome to eat during breaks in treatment. Afternoon volunteers are invited to come early for lunch before their shift begins.
